Tollywood director Raj Aditya found dead

Film director Rajakumaran Thambi (38), known in Tollywood as Raj Aditya, was found dead in a hotel room in Hyderabad where he was staying. The police says it is a case of suicide. His movie, 'Malli Malli' released all over Andhra Pradesh today (March 21).

The Malayali director was the son of Sreekumaran Thambi, a noted poet-writer-director in Malayalam. Raj debuted in Telugu with 'Ishtam' (2001), co-directing the film with Vikram K.Kumar (the director of '13B'). His first independent film was Sumanth starrer 'Pourudu'.

‘Malli Malli’ stars Skanda and Kalyani in the lead. Ironically, the hero in the film decides to live and fight after a suicide attempt. Raj had plans to make a movie with Tarun as the hero and the shooting was slated to begin in April.

As a child artist, Raj had acted in several Malayalam films. Later, he assisted director Priyadarshan.
