Now, Retorts For Pawan Kalyan

If one could remember Pawan Kalyan had commented on Rajshekar that the actor cannot speak proper Telugu, this had Rajshekar completely shaken and in his trademark style had his wife retort to Pawan Kalyan's remarks.

Now, after much deliberation he has the incident inserted in his upcoming film Satyameva Jayate, and now he claims that he has an appropriate retort for Pawan Kalyan in the movie.

That's interesting, but one doubt largely lurks in the audience's mind, and that is, if the retort (hopefully in Telugu) would be in Rajshekar's own voice, or in a dubbed voice? Rajshekar could make efforts to clarify on this aspect also.

JD's 'Siddham' coming on 12th Feb

After a successful outing in 'Homam', director JD Chakravarthy is coming back with 'Siddham' said to be a sequel starring Jagapathi Babu and Sindhu Menon in the main cast. It has been produced by Koneru Kiran Kumar on Shreya Productions banner.

The plot is about an episode in a cop's life which is based on real life police men Dayanayak and PSR Anjaneyulu. Speaking to the media, JD said, "Jagapathi Babu enacts the role of a vigilant and valorous cop who doesn't refrain from encounter if need arises. He's of the view that 'A doctor medicates…an engineer builds and I am to Kill', which is for justice."

Disparate from the usual cop stories, in 'Siddham' the police officer doesn't have any personal vengeance but only for his job against the criminals. Interestingly, there are no songs in this film to maintain the fast pace all along.

Sindhu Menon who plays the female lead has a lot of scope to perform. The message conveyed by 'Siddham' is it might be easy to face death but not to take life out of someone. We have one more cop story ready to encounter the screens this February.

Jagapathi Babu refused at first: ‘Dil’ Raju

‘Aakasamantha’ produced by ‘Dil’ Raju on Sri Venkateshwara Creations banner has Jagapathi Babu playing a prominent role in the film. Directed by Radha Mohan, Prakash Raj and Trisha enact the role of a father and daughter in the movie.

During a recent press meet producer ‘Dil’ Raju said, “We had a special character in the film which has ample scope to perform. I later sent the DVD of the Tamil version of ‘Aakasamantha’ title ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ to Jagapthi Babu and asked his consent to do the role. He called me and refused to accept my proposal.”

‘He said as he is playing hero at present in three films, he might not suit the cameo. In another effort keeping our longtime acquaintance in mind, I approached him for a second opinion and said it would be a valuable addition for the film. After a few minutes of deep thinking, he agreed and I am thankful for him consenting to my request.’

We are making efforts to complete the shooting by February and release the film for Ugadi on March 27, said Raju.

'House Full' fills houses on 14th

In the direction of debutant Ajay Bhuyan, ‘House Full’ produced by director turned producer Chandra Siddharth stars Gauri Pandit, Vipin, Vega, Aryan in the main cast.

The movie completed shooting and is getting ready for release on 14th February during Valentine's Day.

The movie has been made as an end-to-end entertainer which has a comical storyline. Even though, the title depicts the film industry the plot is no way related to cinema. If you are curious watch the film on screen to know the relevance of the title. We are sure the movie will render an altogether fresh experience for the movie goers. The characters are designed in such a way that every one of it has its own prominence, according to the director.

Ram Charan's New Look in New Movie

Ram Charan was recently spotted at the Sitara film awards function, and one could not recognize him at the first go, the actor seemed to have a completely transformed look from his first film Chiruta, though the long hair and beard have always been his trademark, this time around they have both grown longer.

As a matter of fact, so long is the hair now that a pony could easily be made out of it, Ram Charan also looked a shade older than what he is, and he also seems to have added a mature and serious demeanor to his personality.

The expensive Shriya

Kanthaswamy was almost complete except for a song. Recently, the crew was at Italy shooting a song sequence featuring Vikram and Shriya.

This song sequence witnessed Shriya adorned with a costume worth a jaw dropping amount of Rs. 26 lakhs.

Lo behold, this is not the end. She was wearing diamond jewelry costing a whopping Rs. 6 crores. It was reported that the hiring charge alone for the jewels was Rs. 5 lakhs per day.

The crew was heard saying that they had canned the film in places in Italy which has not been visited hitherto by any film team. Kanthaswamy, directed by Susi Ganesan and produced by Thanu, is turning out to be a very expensive project indeed.

Vivek's top honors

The prestigious and coveted Padma awards were announced by the Union Government of India on the eve of the Republic Day.

The noted film personalities that were selected for this award were Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tamil comedy actor Vivek.

Vivek is known for his comedy tracks that deliver good messages to the general public and he also tries to create awareness about issues like bribery, corruption, pollution etc. According to the actor his inspiration to handle such subjects is Kalaivanar N S Krishnan.

The date of the awards ceremony is expected to be announced soon. The awards will be handed out by the President of India, Pratiba Patil.

Second time for Priyamani?

Priyamani bagged the best actress award for Paruthi Veeran. Following this she has acted in both mainstream and art films.

Recently, the actress has completed a Malayalam film titled Thiraikatha which deals with the life of an actress between 1982 and 2000. She is reported to have been inspired by the late Srividya for her role and has tried to emulate her completely from the way of dressing to body language and emoting styles. Priya is very confident that she would once again win the national award for this film.

She is also very happy with the way her career is shaping up. She is currently doing Mani Ratnam’s Ashoka Vanam for which she was in Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh.

Through this film, she will be foraying into Bollywood. Her Arumugam with Bharath will soon hit the screens. In Telugu, she is on the verge of completing Drona and N T Balakrishna’s film.

Arya the Casanova

After completing Naan Kadavul, Arya has gone on to wrap Sarvam with Vishnu Vardhan and will soon be setting his feet in Ende Keralam with Roshan Andrews of Udayanu Tharum and Notebook fame.

This project is titled Casanova and has Mohanlal as the hero. Arya is said to be playing a key role in the film. Casanova was launched amidst a lot of fanfare in Bengaluru recently. The function was attended by Mohanlal, Arya, Priyadarshan, Joshi, Sibi Malayil and many dignitaries from Mollywood.

Roshan Andrews while speaking at the launch function told that though Mohanlal is the hero, Arya’s role will also be pivotal and crucial in the film. The genre of the film is action thriller.

Casanova has Meera Jasmine, Lakshmi Rai in addition to four models as heroines. The movie is set to go on floors from April 10th and is getting ready on a ten crore budget. The crew has plans to shoot in exotic locales in Venice and Austria. Arya is said to have given a straight 40-day call sheet for the film.

Gautham Menon tries to rope in Salman Khan

What is Gautham Menon’s next project after Vaaranam Aayiram? This is the question that most of his fans would love to get an answer.

While some say that he will complete his already delayed Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikaalam, looks like the director has other plans.

According to Gautham, he has a new script ready and will disclose all details regarding the project next week.

The director added that after completing this venture he would start work on a Bollywood film. Gautham said that he is discussing the Bollywood film with Salman Khan and it is expected to go on the floors in August.

It is said that A.R. Rahman will compose the theme music for the upcoming Champions’ League T20 tournament! It is also heard that he will take a small break from composing music for films to concentrate on this theme music. He plans to make it very energetic and inspiring! Some say that he will compose a symphony and others say he will stick to his “techno-innovations”! Well, we will know what he is up to pretty soon as the Champions’ League starts on December 3rd. IPL is also planning to make an attractive video featuring many famous cricketers for the theme to be composed by A.R. Rahman. Not just T20, A.R. Rahman will also compose the theme music of the Commonwealth Games to be held at New Delhi in 2010.

Endhiran in Chennai

It is heard that director Shankar is holding the shooting of Endhiran (also referred to as Enthiran and formerly known as Robot) on East Coast Road. Actually, the Endhiran crew should have been filming a few scenes pertaining to Rajni and Aishwarya Rai in Kulu Manali as per their original schedule, but this change of plan is because Aishwarya Rai is working in Kerala in Mani Ratnam’s Ravana and Ashokavanam. So Shankar decided that he will go ahead with the portions involving Rajinikanth without waiting for the slender and beautiful Aishwarya Rai. We have to appreciate Shankar’s empathy and patience. He has been making quite a lot of adjustments in Endhiran’s schedule for Aishwarya Rai's sake – he feels grateful to her for agreeing to act in his film despite her preoccupation with Mani Ratnam’s bilingual. Also, one cannot help marveling at Shankar’s ingenuity and flexibility; if one plan goes down, there is always a plan B or C for him and they have all been very meticulously planned. But the industry is surprised as this could be the first time a Rajinikanth film is facing change of schedule due to a heroine’s non-availability! Well, there is not much sting in this surprise as the heroine in question is Aishwarya Rai! It is also heard that this stop-gap action will be for two weeks; a considerable portion of the film which involves Rajinikanth will be shot during this period.

Selva Raghavan to direct NTR

Junior NTR, N.T. Rama Rao’s other grandson, is now busy with a film being directed by V.V. Vinayak. After this film, it is reliably learnt that he is going to be the hero in a film to be directed by Selva Raghavan, who loved the beautiful love story narrated by the director. Selva Raghavan has directed two hit films 7G Brindavan Colony and Aadavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule (AMAV). This will be his second ‘straight’ Telugu film after AMAV. Singanamala Ramesh will be producing the Junior NTR-Selva Raghavan flick. Already Singanamala Ramesh is producing two big budget films with Pawan Kalyan under S.J. Suryah’s direction and with Maheshbabu under Trivikram Srinivas’ direction. The Pawan Kalyan-S.J. Suryah flick was first titled Puli; then the title was changed to Komaram Puli. Pawan Kalyan has been sporting a fearsome moustache for this role.

Naa Anevaadu in November

Naa Anevaadu (‘Okkadunte Chalu’) stars Rajiv Kanakala, Harish and Tanuja, whose beauty captivates both heroes in the movie. Produced and directed by Prashanta Reddy and produced under Sadguru Sai Creations banner, the film revolves around friendship and provides a good definition for what an ideal friendship should be like. Prashanta commented, “The shooting and post production has been wrapped up and the first copy is ready. The movie narrates the story of two friends; we are portraying the consequences of selfless friendship and love in this film. Every possible element like love, friendship and other emotions are present. Rajiv's performance will move every one.” Bhanuchandar, M.S. Narayan, Srinivas Reddy, Velu and Chitram Srinu are the supporting star cast. Surya has handled the camera, Saket Sairam has composed the music and writer Mohan has penned the dialogues. The co-producers are Venugopal and Lakshma Reddy who also does the production work. All five songs in the album were appreciated by listeners and the album is doing very well on the charts. The movie is planned for release in November.

Why is Praja Rajyam party president Chiranjeevi making so much fuss about Telugu Desam party carrying N T Rama Rao's portrait during its election campaign?
According to TD leaders, the answer is simple: If TD highlights NTR during its campaign, people would definitely draw a comparison between him and Chiranjeevi. Already, Chiru's speeches have failed to generate any enthusiasm among the people, as they are dull and drab. They are coming in large numbers to his meetings, but they are finding that his speeches do not have any punch and sting that NTR used to have.
And once Balakrishna enters the scene and goes about with his road shows with NTR's portrait in the backdrop, people will definitely get attracted towards him. Hence, Chiru is raking up the issue of NTR to convey to the people that the NTR legacy in TD had already been lost.

Arundhati Problem In B, C Centers

It is known news that the only name that is currently making rounds among the audience and the film folk is 'Arundhati'. The film has turned out to be a major success and a blockbuster also is looking imminent for it. However, there seems to be a technical glitch that might hamper its success.Apparently, the film's main strength lies in the audio and sound effects to bring about the kind of fear and chill elements. However, almost 90% of the theatres in B and C centres are not equipped with the right kind of sound system and the situation is said to be even worse in the C centres.This has led to a rather milder response as compared to the A centres and experts say that the maximum mileage can now be generated only from the A centers if they are looking at a major record breaker. This should be a challenge of sorts and also an eye opener to those who are not focused on improvising their theatre infrastructure.

After a pregnant pause, she says, “Honestly speaking, Rahul and I haven’t even met after coming out of the Bigg Boss’s house, except at award functions.” Do we detect a flicker of disappointment here? “I am starting my second stint in the glam world and I really have no time for a man.Love is a full- time job and I can’t afford that luxury at this critical point. Having shifted to my new apartment, I now have quite a few neighbours who hail from film and television industry. It’s heartening to feel their warmth, and I have finally come out of my shell,” she signs off.

Farzana’s stunt tips

Actress Farzana is a well known dancer in the industry but very few know her skills in choreographing stunts.

I don’t sulk for too long says Rahil Azam

Actor Rahil Azam talks about his workout regime, his daily diet, his happiness quotient and his idea of relaxation
People don’t realise that over doing workouts are bad. I work out four days a week to keep myself fit. But if I’ve to shed weight or get into a particular physique for a role, I hit the gym six days a week. That’s what I have been doing of late. I’m trying to balance between cardio exercises and weights. My workout sessions always include cardio, but not more than 20 minutes. Many don’t know that even cardio exercises shouldn’t be overdone. Whenever I can, I try to cycle to the gym and back. I love walking and always make it a point to take stairs. I regularly used to practice martial arts but, it’s not happening now. I want to start with it again. I’m also planning to do yogasanas which really help you relax.

Right now, I’m looking forward to losing some weight so have been concentrating on my protein intake. So my diet is definitely more proteins, especially in the night and very little carbs. Even if I feel like having something heavy, it’s before six in the evening. I drink a lot of water and have a fruit or two every day. I think one fruit for the day is more than enough and that too only after my workout. But now, I have started concentrating on vegetables. My dinner consists lots of vegetable with small pieces of breast chicken.

Small things give me happiness. It doesn’t take me too long to get happy. Even a small gesture like a smile makes me glad. I don’t sulk for long and don’t expect people to pamper me. And even if I’m irritated for a long time, it doesn’t take more than a minute to smile. But I’m happy the most when my parents appreciate my work or when I know I’ve done everything right.

I don’t get stressed often to relax. But it happens when I feel I’m not satisfied. This is when I get back home and ask my cook to make me chai —- my stress-buster potion. For me it’s ghar and ghar ki chai. I’m not the kind of person who would go to coffee shops to de-stress. I’d rather call my friend over and offer him also a cuppa tea argue, discuss and find solutions with him. Speak it out —- this is my idea of relaxation.

Arundhati: Tamil version on February 20th

If a film is a hit in Tamil, it will automatically get dubbed in the other 3 South Indian languages. But will the dubbed version becomes a hit as well? Only time will tell. But sometimes, the producers and distributors are pleasantly surprised when the dubbed versions earn more name, fame and money than the original.

Producer Shyam Prasad Reddy has decided to dub the mega budget graphical extravaganza Arundhati in Tamil. The film has not broken records and created new ones. So it is no surprise that Tamil production houses are queuing up with offers running in crores to acquire the Tamil dubbing rights of Arundhati. But the producer still has to decide if he will release the dubbed version himself or sell the rights.

The dubbed version is planned for a February 20th release.

Tamannaah in the remake of Jab We Met

So Tamannaah has finally accepted to act in the Tamil remake of Jab We Met (Hindi), reprising the role of Kareena Kapoor, considered as one of her finest movies. With a meaty role to play with hero Shahid Kapoor, Kareena's acting appreciated for her touching portrayal of the bubbly Geet.

Tamannaah's first film was Sree (Telugu); later, she became popular through Happy Days. She is equally busy in Tamil with several films like Padikathavan with Dhanush which released recently, Ayan with Suriya and Anandha Thandavam (both still to releasee). Her Konchem Ishtamga Konchem Kashtamga (Telugu) opposite Siddharth is ready to hit the screens.

Swathi-Kamal in Kalavaramaye Madilo

Mohan Media Creations which produced Mental Krishna, has launched Kalavaramaye Madilo with Swathi (Ashta Chemma heroine) and Kamal Kamaraju (Avakaya Biryani hero, also spelt Avakai Biriyani) in the lead. It will be produced by Mohan Vadlapatla and directed by Satish of Hope fame.

At the official launch on January 22nd at Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad, producer Dil Raju released the logo of this film. Dil Raju had registered the title previously but gave it to Mohan Vadlapatla and Satish when he heard the film's story and thought this title would suit their script. The director thanked Dil Raju for his magnimonius gesture on the occasion of the film's muhurat. Satish also thanked Vadlapatla for agreeing to produce Kalavaramaye Madilo

Kamal Kamaraju said that he had bagged a different kind of role from that of Avakai Biryani. He also praised the entire team of Kalavaramaye Madilo for their dedication. He said, “Kalavaramaye Madilo is about an aspiring singer, played by Swathi.”

Malayalam music director Sarath is setting Vanamali's lyrics to music while dialogues are being penned by Lakshmi Bhupal.

Trisha romances Gopichand

After a good year in Kollywood, Trisha has turned her attention to cement her position as top heroine in Telugu. She rounded off 2008 with Abhiyum Naanum (Tamil) a 'multiplex' hit and Kuruvi (Tamil). In Telugu, she ended the year with the mega-hit King starring Nagarjuna. Now she has signed up a film with Gopichand, one of the hottest young Andhra hunks in recent years. With his unconventional good looks, Gopichand plays an angry young man very convincingly.

Kajal Aggarwal was be Gopichand's heroine in his next movie directed by Siva (who had directed Souryam). But since her prior commitments didn't leave her with enough time for Gopichand's film, Kajal backed off and Trisha was selected.

This untitled film is unique for two reasons. One is that Trisha is acting with Gopichand for the first time and the other is that after over 20 years, Satyaraj is returning to Telugu films as Gopichand's father.

Bhagawan Das and Pulla Rao will be producing this film.

'Item songs are necessary for all films these days'

In memory of her famous husband -- cinematographer Jeeva -- his wife Anees Tanveer started a production house -- Vision Jeeva Studios.
Now the company is ready with its first production Muthirai, a Tamil film, which is being made in association with ASA Productions and Enterprises Pvt Ltd.

Presented by Vikram Bhatt, the drama stars Nithin Sathya, Daniel Balaji, Lakshmi Rai and Manjari Phadnis (of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na fame) in the lead roles. Kishore of Polladhavan fame plays an important role while Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant makes a special appearance.

The film is directed by Srinath while Jeeva's assistant Salim is the cinematographer.

Anees, who wrote screenplay of the film, tells Shobha Warrier what to expect from the film.

Was it Jeeva?s dream to start a production house, or was it in his memory that you decided to launch Vision Jeeva Studios?

Jeeva and I had talked about starting a production house so that we could make films that we believed in. We also wanted to give a chance to young people. It took me some time to get over (the death of Jeeva). I decided to start a production house as it is the only way to keep myself going would be to remain connected to films.

Due to the grace of God, I met up with a few people and everything clicked fast. I tied with ASA Productions. Vikram Bhatt is the creative director of the company.

What exactly will his role be as a creative director?

He is the person who approves the projects to be done by the ASA. I think at present he decides only Hindi films. Slowly, they will branch out to Tamil also. They have tied up with me for the South. Vikram and I will decide which would be the right projects to back and go ahead with.

Trisha Next Movie With Gopichand

After 5 years of gap, heroine Trisha is going to act with hero Gopichand. Earlier Gopichand acted as villan in varsham movie in which Trisha made her debut as heroine in telugu film industry. This new movie will be the first time that Trisha and Gopichand are coming together as hero and heroine.

This yet to be named movie is being directed by Siva who earlier directed Gopichand Souryam and is being jointly produced by Bhaghavan Das and Pulla Rao. Tamil hero Satya Raj is going to play the role of Gopichand father in this movie which is going to be an added attraction for this film. The regular shooting of this movie will start from February 1st week.

Trisha was chosen for this role after Kajal Agarwal walked out of this project because of lack of daes. Trisha was paid huge amount to do this movie.
