Apparently, when the hot Malayalam beauty Asin was finalized for the leading lady's role, there was an issue of dates for Asin and a dilemma prevailed for a while. In this stop gap period, Genelia's name popped up, she was roped in and even few days of shooting also took place with Aamir Khan.
