Did Sandip meet Maradona?

He had claimed to have conducted “a dance exchange programme” with legendary Argentinian footballer Maradona and his girlfriend, Veronica, during their visit to Kolkata. After DT published a story quoting Sandip’s partner Jessy Randhawa contradicting his claims of having performed at Madonna’s 50th birthday bash, Sandip stood by his claim of meeting Maradona in Kolkata. Meanwhile, Bhaswar Goswami, executive director of Celebrity ManagementGroup, which facilitated Maradona’s visit to Kolkata, had rubbished Sandip’s claims.“It’s an out-and-out lie,” Goswami had said. When this comment was narrated to Sandip, he said, “Please ask him to either speak to me or get a comment from Maradona’s manager. I stand by my comments.” Our sister publication in Kolkata got in touch with Maradona’s manager, Sebastian Demonte. Sebastian e-mailed back saying that any information related to Maradona’s visit should be addressed to Goswami since he was responsible for the footballer’s visit to India. “I can confirm that such (an) exchange program did not take place,” Sebastian wrote back.When contacted, Sandip’s partner Jessy said, “I love Sandip and he loves me too. I trust him completely. Who he is teaching doesn’t bother me at all.”On being told that the question is not about their relationship but about whether he is a celebrity teacher or not, she said, “I wouldn’t be able to comment on Maradona’s dance class.” When Sandip finally got back to us, to answer our queries about what Maradona’s manager had said, he had this to say, “What was Maradona doing during that one hour that he was late for a meeting with Jyoti Basu? I have the answer. He was dancing with me.
